Legislative Meeting in
Richmond On Tuesday the 18th of January leaders of the various VCOPS police locals in Virginia will meet at the Omni Hotel then visit the Legislature on Wednesday the 19th. The Virginia State Fire Fighters Association is also meeting at the Omni on the 18th of January. There may be opportunities for VCOPS Board Members to meet with Firefighter Board Members from around the state on the 18th (more will be announced on this Website and via email). Much of what impacts Fire Fighters also impacts Police. It is time that Virginia Public Safety united in its efforts to protect our mutual interests! The VA Legislature is a great place to begin. On Tuesday evening we will meet at The Tobacco Company across the street from the Omni. We will meet for drinks at 6pm and dinner at 6:30pm. Wednesday morning union leaders will meet at the Omni (at the restaurant on the lobby level at 8am) to go over legislation we have introduced as well as to look at other legislation that may impact law enforcement in general. Check in at the Omni is after 3 PM and meet The Tobacco Company around 6- 6:30PM. If you have a legislator you would like to invite to The Tobacco Company please invite them to attend.
