Christopher Strope (Email)

Chris is a retired 20 year veteran of the Arlington County Police Department in Arlington, Virginia. He has a Masters in Forensic Science from the George Washington University and has a Bachelors degree from Lynchburg College. He is one of the Charter Members of VCOPS and Past President of the Arlington Coalition of Police, Local 48.

Chris began and ended his career in Arlington in the Patrol Division, dedicated to protecting and serving the citizens of Arlington County. Chris was the first president of the Virginia Coalition of Police and Deputy Sheriffs and served as president until his retirement from Arlington County P.D. in 1992.

Chris has devoted his life to the improvement of the working lives of Virginia's law enforcement officers. Over the past 10 years he has helped lead the fight in the local, state and national arenas to fight for and win on-the-job protections and fairness for every working police officer or deputy sheriff in the Commonwealth. In a Right to Work state like Virginia Chris has proven that " if there is a will there is a way" . No one believed that unions, especially police unions, could be successful in Virginia. Virginia Cops has proven otherwise. It hasn't been an easy task, but nothing worth doing ever is.
